How to compose an "exciting" .plan file

Basically, it is done with the backspace codes, and inverse codes,
provided for in /etc/termcap.  There is a neat program called
dotplan floating around (I think it is on the comp.sources.unix or
comp.sources.misc) archive server which does some neat stuff
for .plan files.
