Compile C Programs in Differnet Machines!

This topic is much too broad to address in one reasonably-sized article.
There are several books on such subjects.  One reasonable one is
"Portable C and Unix System Programming", J.E. Lapin, Prentice-Hall 1987.
There are more recent ones that would also be worth a look.
