COMM. routines of MS QUICK C.

I am not able to use the serial port communication routines of microsoft 
Quick C. the documentaion supplied by the company is not really helpfull. 
can any one help me in this matter. i am really looking for functions 
to set up , put string, get string from comm. port.
your help will be appreciated.
