USENIX is sponsoring a limited-enrollment workshop on current and future
developments in interactive computer graphics under UNIX, including the
following speakers and topics:

   Ron Baecker of HCR
     "On Enhancing the Presentation of Computer Program Source Text"

   T. Beier of Pacific Data Images
     "Computer Graphics in Commercial Production"

   Bigelow & Holmes will talk about their work on font design,

   Loren Carpenter of Lucasfilm on pixar design

   Tom Duff of Bell Labs "Tools for 3D Rendering"

   Roy Hall of Robert Abel Associates
     "The Architecture of Software Systems for Image Synthesis and Animation"

   Lou Katz of UC Berkeley
     "Graphics under Cromix in a Tiny Machine: The Domino Theory"

   Peter Langston of Bell Communications Research

   Steven McGeady of Ann Arbor Terminals
    "Window Management is An Operating System Issue. An Architecture for
	     A Distributed Windowing Graphics Device"

   Rob Pike of Bell Labs "Why Unix can't do interactive graphics"

   David Salesin of Lucasfilm

   Spencer Thomas of U. of Utah "The Alpha_1 CAD System"

   Michael Wahrman of Symbolics

   Turner Whitted of the U. of N. Carolina

     The workshop will be structured to facilitate in-depth discussions  of
technical  issues, and will have presentations in a number of formats, with
ample time for questions and responses.  There will be a computer  graphics
film and video presentation at a banquet.

     In order to cover  the  extra  expenses  entailed  in  providing  high
qualiity  visual  presentations,  the  registration fee will be $200, which
will include a reception and proceedings (both printed and on video  tape).
The hotel rate for this conference is a special $65/night for either single
or double occupancy.

      The intent of this workshop is to give participants an opportunity to
have  high-quality  technical  exchanges with other active and knowledgable
workers  in  the  field.  Thus,  to  ensure  active  participation  by  ALL
attendees,  applicants  must submit a brief statement of qualifications and
areas  of  graphics  expertise.   For  further  details   and   application
