Industrial Sessions at the EUUG Copenhagen Conference.

The Industrial Sessions are for those who are interested in the newest
trends and directions in the growing UNIX market. The sessions will
contain presentations of new commercial products - hardware, software
as well as an overview of the growing UNIX market.

The industrial sessions run on Tuesday 10th of September 14.00 - 17.00
and Wednesday 11th September 9.00 - 17.00. Registration fee is included
in normal conference registration, except for the Yates Ventures
marketing session. Please note that there is no lunch included
Tuesday, but a lunch may be bought at the conference center.

The following main topics are planned:

Market Overview: (Tue 10, 3rd session) Price DKK 600.-

A speaker from Yates Ventures will give a 60 min presentation on
the current status of the UNIX market. Special emphasis will be on
the European market, and the internationalization of UNIX.

IBM and UNIX: (Tue 10, 4th session)

This session will present IBM's current stand on UNIX on mainframes.
A representative from IBM will talk on the recently launched
IX/370 and how it fits into IBM's current operating system strategy.

Software distribution: (Tue 10, 4th session)

As the costs for a software producer to get a large market share
are increasing with the number of different systems he has to support,
a number of systems houses which specialize in distribution
have be established. A speaker from Sphinx Ltd. will talk about
the problems and challenges in distributing UNIX software across
systems from many vendors.

New Hardware Trends: (Wed 11, 1st session)

A talk will be given on the new multiprocessor architectures.
Presentations on high performance supermicros and RISC based systems
are also planned.

Office Automation: (Wed 11, 2nd session)

The UNIPLEX II office automation package will be presented by Redwood
International. UNIPLEX is a fully parameter driven package
which consists of word processing, spreadsheet, data base, menu
system, screen builder, print spooler and communications. The
package has been ported to over 32 different systems, and is
available in many languages. Services Ltd.

Data bases and 4th generation languages: (Wed 11, 3rd session)

This session will present the new exiting tools which are available
for the application builder. Many vendors have developed advanced
tools which interface directly into relational data bases,
thus enabling an application builder to get his product out quickly.

Graphics: (Wed 11, 4th session)

The new advanced graphics tools available under UNIX will be presented
here. Special emphasis is planned on raster graphics and
how to interface modern graphic peripherals will UNIX which is
basically a character driver operating system.

Communications: (Wed 11, 4th session)

ICCC ApS, a Danish company specializing in data communications
will give a presentation on how they developed a set of communications
tools for UNIX which permit a UNIX system to communicate
directly with a Sperry mainframe using Sperry synchronous protocols.
The presentation will also contain information on which
requirements must be met to successfully be able to implement these
protocols.

UNIX training: (Wed 11, 4th session)

With the increasing use of UNIX by non UNIX-guru's, the need for
training is quickly increasing. This presentation will present the
current status of the UNIX training industry, and will give advice
on how to set up your own training program.
