		TECHNICAL EDITOR (part-time)

The USENIX Association, the professional and technical association of
UNIX* users, is looking for a part-time technical editor to assist the
Executive Director in soliciting and selecting articles for publication
in ;login:, the Association's bimonthly newsletter. The editor
would need to invest the requisite time required to produce publication
quality technical articles. The Association hopes that within 18
months it will be able to begin a quarterly technical journal as well.

The technical editor should have extensive computer science background
including UNIX and C experience, be familiar with new directions within
operating systems, and have a wide range of experience within the
industrial and the academic sectors.

A strong writing ability is required. Publications or publishing
experience desirable.

USENIX would be particularly interested in a software professional with
net access. Residence in the San Francisco Bay Area is not a factor.

The salary would not exceed $6000/annum.
