I agree!!!  Almost every terminal/printer have a switch for
flipping between character sets.  I can't see any reason to
use these ugly trigraphs.  Back in Sweden, the Pascal compilers
allowed you to use (. and .) instead of [  ]  but it was NEVER 
used by ANYONE.

I admit I haven't read the draft so if I've missed some 
intended purpose, please let me know.
