PC6300 mouse(?) port on keyboard

I just bought a used AT&T PC6300 (XT clone) w/out any doc, and am 
wondering about the DB-9 port--for a mouse, perhaps?--on the right
front edge of the keyboard.  Any info would be much appreciated.
