can rom 1.43 use high density drive

Hello netlanders

  We have several ATT 6300 two drive machines, we would like to add 
  high density external 5 1/4 and 3 1/2 drives to the one machine(ie c drive 
  d drive).  I've been tryin' to find out if our current ROMs will support 
  this,  we have vers 1.43. Also if anyone could suggest cheap place to buy 
  the boards and drives from that would be great.
