Unix-pc Monitor gone south

Well it's finally happened. The monitor on ureka finally bit the dust
last night while I was out. But it is JUST the monitor. Everything else
is stilll working like a charm. The old familiar smell of burning xfmrs
told me that either the fly or the yoke went bye bye :-(

Now I need a new CRT or at least repair parts. I can handle the repair
since I've been doing it for 20 or so years. I just need parts.

What I would like to do is try one of the suggested replacement strategies
that have been tossed around the unix-pc and att groups. Several have been
posted alluding to using a $70 monitor which has the same or better resolu-
tion and an amber or paper white phosphor.

I would like to entertain knowledgeable suggestions from net users with
some competency. I am not looking for brainstorming ideas. I am presently
terminaling in thru tty000 to keep things running and to be able to do
my homework assignments. How about you ESC alumni (with the exception of
Dr. Mike of course :-)

email is fine, I'll summarize any worthwhile contributions to the net.
