How to debug remote clients?

Just out of curiousity, what debugger (other than dbx) are people using
to debug remote clients?  Specifically, I would like to debug a program
running remotely on a 4D/380 while running under X windows on a local
SparcStation.  Normally I would use xdbx but since this doesn't exist,
as far as I know, on the SGI, what are the alternatives?
