printing LARGE postscript files with transcript?

(We're running SunOS 3.5 on Sun 3s, with the "latest" rev of the
Transcript software as supplied with Sun for the Sun LaserWriter.  Some
rcs ids, if it's of any help:

$Header: pscomm.bsd,v 2.1 85/11/24 11:50:16 shore Rel $

I'm sure this has been covered before, but has anyone any ideas on how to
print large (>1mb) postscript files using Transcript?  We can't print
outside docs (like the X docs) if all we have is the .PS output.  Our
contact with Sun came back with "install SunOS 4.0" to get Transcript bug
fixes - not a solution for the near future.
