Retrieving colour map info from cms_name?

I'd like to be able to retrieve colourmap information from a SunView
application when I only know the name of the colourmap.  All of the
documented routines I can find in the manual also require a Pixwin
pointer.  Is it possible to get colourmap info with a name only?
