Metrics/Benchmarks

Are there any benchmarks or metrics to compare Sun Systems (especially the
SPARC's) to a MicroVaxII or VS3100?  This would be used to determine
#user's per machine running compute intensive applications such as
MiniTab, SPSS, SAS, etc.  Electronic text would be better, but pointers to
magazines would also be very helpful.
