Need *LONG* distance networking advice

I need to establish some sort of "high speed" link between Suns in Boston,
MA. and Austin, TX and I'd like to hear recommendations from people who
have done this sort of thing. What we implement will depend on cost and
serviceability but some basic requirements are;

	* Remote logins for 2-3 users.
	* Reliable file transfers. (We will be maintaining mirrored
	  500mb file systems on each end and we figure we might have
	  to transfer 50mb a day, worst case)

How about T1, x.25, 56kbs, 19.2 modems, stat muxs, other?

Now, we also have "shared development" agreements with a number of our
customers who also want to be able to work remotely & exchange sources,
how does that change our strategy? How do I set up a high-tech BBS?

I'd like to hear success stories, horror stories, cost analysis....

I'll collect all responses and pass them on to anyone else who might
be interested. Please mail all responses to jdc at lpi.uucp, don't use
the return address.  Thanks.
