rpc.statd cannot talk ?

We have about 14 diskless Sun-3's sharing two Sun-3/180 file servers. The
whole lot run SunOS 4.0.3. In addition, they all NFS disks from a Sequent
machine. (The Sequent is named anna.)

A few weeks ago two of the diskless workstations started getting the
following printed to their console every 15 seconds:

rpc.statd: cannot talk to statd on anna

Only two of the 14 workstations have ever gotten this message even though
they all mount anna. Rebooting the workstation and/or anna doesn't make
the message go away. And today, foghorn (one of the Sun-3/180 file
servers) started getting the following every 15 seconds:

rpc.statd: cannot talk to statd on arachne

Arachne is one of the workstations.

Is this anything to worry about? Does anybody know what causes this?
Everything seems to work fine but the message shows up every 15 seconds.
