Trailblazer on SUN 3/80 SunOS 4.0 - help !

A friend of mine who is unable to make contact with the net :-), needs
help to configure his uucp and Trailblzer.  He is getting pretty desperate
(and so am I) because we can't send mail to eachother. Any help will be
greatly appreciated.

My theory is that there might be something wrong with the cable, but as I
don't happen to own a SUN and my friend is more than 1500km away from
here, is is a little hard to do any testing. Thus I would be very happy if
somebody could tell me what the correct cable should look like.

Running uucico with x9 reveals the follwing:
