SunOS 4.1, SPARCstation, spellin program

When I attempt to use the spellin program under SunOS 4.1, it sits for
quite a few minutes (more than 5) and then core dumps.  I do not have
access to the source at this time, but was wondering if anyone out there
has discovered a patch for this problem.  Thanks!
