Sparcstation SLC and CDC Wren IV

I've got a question about connecting a CDC WREN IV (94171376) to a
Sparcstation or a SLC.  In the format.dat (Os 4.0.3) file there is only an
entry for an WREN IV with a serial of 94171344. Is this just an older
version of the 376 Meg drive, and are there any problems with the newer
one.  Is there an entry in format.dat in 4.1 for this drive, and if not
would anybody know the correct settings.  Do you think it to be a good
idea to hook such a drive up to an SLC as a standalone solution?
