No.

"Cypress' 16K x 16 Cache Storage Unit" has 16K 16-bit *(half-)words*.
(From the Cypress *SPARC RISC User's Guide*: "The CY7C157 is a
high-performance CMOS static RAM organized as 16K x 16 bits.")  Glue 2 of
'em together, and you have 16K 32-bit words, or 64K 8-bit bytes.
