Increasing real storage allocation for a process

When running a large LISP process on my 4.01 SPARC system the disk
chatters constantly as it pages the 28 meg virtual region. The process
never grows beyond 5 meg of real memory (out of the 40 meg installed). Is
there a way to encourage the OS to allocate more real memory to this hog?

Any help appreciated!
