Mailtool Icon truncated when running twm

I have begun running MIT X11/R4 with twm. (I have been used to running
Open Windows 2.0). When I run mailtool and convert it into an ICON only
about the top 25% of the ICON is displayed.  Icon for other tools are OK.
Can anybody tell me what the problem is?
