You are in error, sir.  While Sun's Network Drive protocol may have been
developed at Stanford (I don't know) NFS was most certainly *not.*  NFS 
was entirely developed at Sun, and a number of Sun engineers worked very
hard to persuade corporate that NFS would only be valuable if widely
licensed.
