Request for list of mailers (was: sendmail shock. Bibliography?)

With all this talk of what the better mailer is, perhaps someone could
come up with a list of the various mailers, where they can be gotten,
who wrote them, and what some of their (dis)advantages are.  I don't have
the freedom nor the time right now to look into all of them, but surely
someone has done this type of research before when deciding to change from
the vanilla sendmail that came with their system.
