Increasing File Table Size in AIX 3.1 (RS/6000)

Hmm... According to IBM what I was looking at wasn't what I thought it was --
it turns out to be a high-water mark of how many files were open at one time.
The kernel has a limit of about 2000 open files at a time...  My troubles lie
elsewhere -- though I still don't know where...
