Upgrading Merge386

Is there any way to forcefeed DOS 3.3 to Merge so that it will recognize
the 1.44MB 3.5" floppy I have as drive B?  Sys V/386 recognizes it very
nicely, but Merge formats it as a 1.2MB thing.  Thanks.
