ISC printer problem

I have two printers connected to my system: one is a HP laserjet Series II
connected to /dev/lp1 the other is a EPSO LX80 (Yuk!) connected to
/dev/lp0 (/dev/lp0 is on the mono adapter).

The problem is that the laserprinter works fine but the LX80 is
acting very strange. Although it prints OK - it seems to be very very slow.
Now I know the LX80 is slow by nature but not that slow!.
The lp driver seems to buffer up a line then send it and the whole process
of doing this can take up 1 second between printing it. So you get a burst
of print then a 1 second (or thats how long it seems) delay then the next
line and so on until the whole file is printed.

Can anyone please shed a light!!

Thanks
