SCO UNIX 3.2 Failure: df Command

This bit me too.  The solution in my case was really simple
and annoying.

check the ownership, group, and mode of /bin/df.
it should be:
---x--s--x     owner:bin  group:backup

In my case all was correct except group was 'other' or something.
Upon changing to backup, it worked fine.
