X11 development sys for UNIX?

Would someone like to recommend a C compiler which will run under SCO
UNIX and which supports X11R4 development? I thought that was included
with the ODT development set, but it seems to be R3 or older, and has
failed for every single program I've tried to compile from both net and
local origin.

If there is a set of functional X libraries and headers I'd gladly
use them instead. SCO told me that X11R4 is going to be available in
the future, perhaps along with 256 color support, but I need a
development set to use this summer.

Someone on the net mentioned a port of X11R4 for ISC, will that work
on SCO if I use the real C compiler (rcc)?
