Obscure Vi bug?

Another bug in 'vi' relates to the use of uparrow to switch to another
file. If it fails for any reason, it will do weird things. It might be
as benign as throwing you into line mode (repeat by: starting in a modified
file, ":f non-existent-file" then "^^") or erasing the current line. That
one I can't create on demand, but it's happened several times.
