setcolor

Hello netlanders,
I'm having a problem with "setcolor" under 386/ix 2.02.

I have a VGA card and a color screen.
Nevertheless when I invoke setcolor I get this screen:

The following are the available colors for [color] options:

[=1F[=0G[m[[[[[[ blue       [=5F[=0G[m[[[[[[ magenta    [=6F[=0G[m[[[[[[ brown      [=7F[=0G[m[    ] black

Instead of the ESC-Codes I get a white bar. But preceeding the white bar
I get the codes 1F0G for blue or 5F0G for magenta in clear text.

Is there a trick to get color ?
