OOPS ... I do have it -- /lib/libPW.a.  But I have the original 3.2 docs,
and I don't see any reference in the permuted index to alloca() or libPW.
Maybe this was added afterward in the docs and I didn't update mine correctly.

Anyhow, thanks to all who responded about this.
