To CTIX (Convergent Unix) Users,
I am using CTIX on a 386 machine. The system is a product of Convergent
Technologies. Here is my problem: I have used 'sdb' to debug 'core' files
before. Generally, a core can be produced for a running program by pressing
CTRL\. This did not work and so I checked the termio file to find out that
the key sequence that does send the signal for a core dump is CTRL|.
I did get a core dump. When I try to invoke 'sdb' on the core I get a
message which says:
'core' not a core file dumped by core
Moreover on doing a 'file' command on the core file I found that it is an
English text file. On doing a 'less' however it seemed to contain garbage
starting with a lot of @@@@@... chars. It did not screw up my tty though.
Could somebody please solve this mystery for me? Thanks in advance.
Omkar Rath.
