long filenames and symbolic links under SCO UNIX?

i'm enjoying NFS running under SCO UNIX 3.2.1.0 and it's just
doing a great job. however, the limitation of at most 14 characters
for filenames and the missing of symbolic links makes sharing files
with BSD-based systems a pain.
will these limitations ever be removed?
Any information will be appreciated.
