Shared libraries in SCO UNIX

One of the advantages using shared libraries is less disk usage.
So I was amazed that SCO does not use shared libraries for the hundred
of utilities delivered with the system. Compared to 386ix the disk usage
of SCO is 2 or 3 times higher.

My question (to SCO and all who know): Why doesn't SCO-UNIX use the
shared libraries for their commands ?
