I may be writing a STREAMS module/driver which resides below the Data
Link Provider Interface (DLPI) in the Data Link Layer of the OSI Reference
Model. This module will provide access to a variety of Data Link Services
(e.g. SDLC, 802.2, 802.3, etc.).

There is a set of kernel-level service interfaces, based
on the STREAMS development environment which will provide
uniformity among the various UNIX system networking products. One of
these interfaces is the DLPI. I believe there should be two more
interfaces, one for the O.S. and the other for diagnostics.

This set of interfaces may be what is termed the Extended Device
Driver Interface (XDDI).

Does anyone know about the XDDI ?

Any information (e.g., reference manuals) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
