YES IT IS POSSIBLE.  The way I have seen it done is at shell level
and curses...  With curses, you have FULL tty  I/O control.  It even
comes with functions for MULTIPLE ttys.  But remember, root can read all
(big brother) but if your permissions are right the other users (little
brothers) can't see a thing.....

The most famous way is via KSH k-shell...  You can modify and rewrite it.
And if you want, rename /bin/ksh to /bin/sh ..  who knows, maybe your
sysadm is watching you read this letter...  :)

if you want a pretty good demo... login to 2 ttys and from ttyn1 type
tee /dev/ttyn2   where n1 is your first tty and n2 the 2nd ex tty32..

type something in and hit enter... walla...

Look up curses in a manual and become familiar with shells and signals.

REMEMBER: They don't call the root (SUPER user) for nothing!!!!
