Write AND talk

Ok.  So I post question asking if there is a utility to replace write,
and I get back 50 replies that say "talk(1)".  Thanks to all that answered,
but it seems that none of my machines has talk, (and, since some people
were not sure, there is no talk in xenix that I can find).  So, let me
modify the question, is there anything other than talk or write, in unix/
xenix or the public domain, that will allow to users to communicate from
one terminal to another?
