AWK/shell quoting

I don't know about you guys, but if I have an awk script that's giving me
problems I sidestep globbing altogether:

cat >/tmp/awk.$$ << 'EOF'
big, hairy, awk script.
EOF
awk -f /tmp/awk.$$ stuff
rm -f /tmp/awk.$$

This also allows me to gen up parts of the script on the fly a lot easier.
