I followup not because the net-at-large cares about the geometry of an
XT2190 - but rather because I think folks should know about a really neat
resource. Western Digital has a BBS, and maintains upon it a fairly
comprehensive list of disk drives. Their BBS number is 1-714-756-8176.
For example, the entry under Maxtor says:
| MAXTOR 408-432-1700
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------
| MODEL ST-506 MFM CAP CYC H RWC WPC ENC RATE ACCESS SPT
| XT-1065 5.25 FH 56 918 7 919 919 M 5 28 MS 17
| XT-1085 5.25 FH 71 1024 8 1025 1025 M 5 28 MS 17
| XT-1105 5.25 FH 87 918 11 919 919 M 5 27 MS 17
| XT-1140 5.25 FH 119 918 15 919 919 M 5 27 MS 17
| XT-2085 5.25 FH 74 1224 7 1225 1225 M 5 30 MS 17
| XT-2140 5.25 FH 117 1224 11 1225 1225 M 5 30 MS 17
| XT-2190 5.25 FH 159 1224 15 1225 1225 M 5 29 MS 17
| [ stuff on lotsa other drives deleted ]
BTW, a RWC=CYC+1 or WPC=CYC+1 mean that reduced write current or write
precomp, respectively, are not used.
Voila. If this doesn't answer your questions - then you've even got
a phone number to call.
