SCO UNIX and PCI

This is a question for those poor souls who are using PC Interface by Locus.
Mind you, PCI is not that bad of a package, but we *are* talking about DOS here.
Anyhow, I digress ...

I installed PCI on a SCO UNIX box and on a couple of DOS PC's (one a PS/2 and
the other a clone) all using WD Ethernet adapters. Everything was working
quite swimmingly, until I decided to "simulate" a system crash. After
halting the UNIX box, all of the PC's completely locked up, and I had to cycle
the power on both to bring them back to the land of the living. This is
a completely unnacceptable situation ... we have some customers who are going
to have *bunches* of these DOS abominations running PCI; having every damn
machine going belly-up in this fashion is not going to make anyone very
happy ... is this something I'll have to learn to live with, or is something
odd going on here?

If MS-DOS didn't exist, who would UNIX programmers have to make fun of?
