Ultrix has as an optional product DECnet/Ultrix which has gateway
software to link DECnet and TCP/IP. You can telnet to "gate" and when
you get username: type "DECnet-node::" as the name. The gateway then
connects you to the decnet node and does the protocol conversion. Our
problem is instead of getting a 230 status for correct login, we get 231
when we use the gateway. This doesn't seem to bother most TCP/IP
systems but it does bother a Tandem. They will fix it but I want to
know a couple of things.
1: Is 231 a legal response.
2: If not does anybody know if DEC has anyother nonstandard statuses I
should have them watch out for.
Thanks
