RD53 help needed

I have recently acquired a MicroVax II with internal and external
RD52 drives. I also own a MAXTOR 71 megabyte(formatted) drive
that I would like to use as an RD53. I understand that Dec made
some modification to the ST-506 interface standard which requires
that some line on the 34 pin connector be strapped low or high
in order for the RQDX2 controller to accept the disk and format
it. Does anyone have this information? Incidentally, the physical
configuration of the MAXTOR is identical to an RD53 (# heads/
cylinders etc).
