I have not tried a CI cluster with VMS and ULTRIX but we did operate
for some time with multiple VMS clusters on the same CI. We found the
hard way that disks could become corrupt just by mounting them on two
indpendent clusters at the same time. It was not necessary for any
transactions to occure on either system.

If I were going to attempt VMS and ULTRIX on the same CI, I think I
would set the ULTRIX device /noavaliable on the VMS system and remove
the device special files for the VMS disks from the ULTRIX system.
