Ultrix 4.0 on 8600/8650 systems

I'm interested in contacting other sites that are running Ultrix 4.0 on
8600/8650 systems.
I'm currently having trouble getting the dmz's to honor modem
control. We have 24 ports connected to a Sytek multiplexer. Ultrix
doesn't respond when a user connects to it. It works fine under Ultrix
3.1 (and we're using the exact same parameters in the config file and
/etc/ttys file).
Another problem I've run into is that the snapcopy command would hang
when it tries to read the snap files on the RL02. This problem went
away when I did a "set snap invalid" at >>> prompt. I'm afraid the
problem will come back the next time we get a snap and snapcopy will
hang in rc.local during the reboot.
If you haven't installed Ultrix 4.0 on your 8600/8650 yet, be sure to
contact DEC about getting the patch to cons.o (in /sys/VAX/BINARY).
The patch fixes a problem in the console terminal driver. Without the
patch the console will drop the first one or two characters of every
message sent to it. Its tolerable to loose the prompt but vi is almost
impossible to use because the ESC character often gets dropped. This
problem is limited to 8600/8650 systems.
