	Why does GNU Emacs (18.55) sometimes refuse to start up, printing
the error message:

		$ emacs
		/usr/local/bin/emacs: bad address

This is a DECstation 3100 running Ultrix 4.0. It has 12 MB RAM and
50 MB swap. Am I running out of RAM? Contiguous RAM? ??? This is
happening on ALL of our DECstations. Anybody else seen this?

                                                        Dan
