I concurr with your opinion DPS -- I find it very useful, but I have to admit that I often use ghostscript, because it doesn't swell my server so much. In some ways, I had hoped that DPS would run as a distinct process/layer that programs would invoke, and that it would then be usable on e.g., X terminals connected to your DECstation.
