Third party CD-ROM drive on DS3100

I'd like to attach a Denon DRD-253 CD-ROM drive to my DS3100.  The
hardware is recognized
by >>test -c but I don't have a /etc/disktab entry and don't know how to
mount a read-only
device.  Has anyone out there attempted such an operation?
Please be as specific as possible.
