Writer's Workbench is indeed available outside of the Bell System. If you
have System V, WWB is available from Western Electric as an add-on service.
Otherwise, non-Bell System requesters should contact:

	AT&T Technology Licensing
	P.O. Box 2500
	Greensboro, NC 27420
	Phone: (919) 697-6530

For those not familiar with WWB, the following appeared lately in the Bell
Laboratories Record:

The Writer's Workbench system is actually 30 computer programs that
perform many of the functions of a human editor. The programs can scan
a piece of prose and identify misspellings and simple punctuation
errors. They can analyze sentence style, pick out wordy phrases or
cliches, and estimate the level of readability. Using the Writer's
Workbench system frees the human editor to concentrate on more
difficult issues, such as the content or the organization of the
	document.
