Terry,
Silicon Graphics (Greg Chession) has an XNS like package for BSD
4.2. This package allows vaxen to talk successfully to their equipment
(Iris) on a single net.
Greg's software is solid, but I advise you not to mistake it for a
complete XNS implementation. In the pieces that he has chosen to
implement he has conformed to the specs very well, but he has (at
present) severe limitations on the usage of his package ==> It will not
work with Xerox product software.
If you have SGI equipment, it's probably very worthwhile to install
Greg's "XNS" package, but if what you want is full XNS you should
probably wait a little longer.

Hint: This problem is very much on the mind of the people in Xerox and
solutions are in the works.
